On 30 March 2023, at the invitation of the Organization Committee of the 2023 AHF Asia Hospitality & Tourism Forum and the 18th China Culture & Tourism Starlight Awards, H.E. Ms. Lada Phumas, Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia, delivered her remarks at the opening ceremony of the 2023 AHF events at Kerry Hotel Pudong, Shanghai, with about 200 participants from hospitality businesses over China and abroad. Ms.Yang Yanping, Secretary - General of Hotel Industry Chapter, Shanghai Tourism Trade Association, and Mr. Henry Chen, Founder and Secretary - General of AHF, also participated.
乐达大使在致辞中提到AHF亚洲酒店及旅游业论坛以“从‘心’启程，共赴美好”为主题的活动的举办，将有助于全球经济的复苏，并带来共同繁荣。鉴于当前的积极政策和措施，特别是中国到2025年追求高质量旅游业和到2035年成为世界旅游强国的大背景下，上海和长三角地区的酒店业和旅游相关业务对中外企业来说，具有巨大的机遇和潜力。In her address, Ambassador Lada reflected on the high time of the AHF events under the theme “Reload with Inspiration for a Better Shared Future”, which would contribute to much needed global economic recovery and bring about shared prosperity. Great opportunities and potentials for hospitality industry and tourism-related businesses in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) for both Chinese and foreign enterprises were also highlighted in light of the current active policies and measures, especially for China to pursue high-quality tourism by 2025 and to become a world tourism powerhouse by 2035.
The participants also acknowledged Thailand as one of the top tourist destinations with strong hospitality industry. Thailand has fully reopened since October last year and looks forward to welcoming all foreign visitors, friends and partners, while continuing to attach great importance to safety, health and high-quality services.
Ambassador Lada took this opportunity to also equip the audience with vast potentials on Thailand - China tourism cooperation, while in China, all friends could enjoy Thai-ness and Thai experience offered by the Thai hotel chains such as Dusit Thani International and Minor International, as well as Thai restaurants and spas.开幕式后，举行了“中国文旅新赛道”圆桌对话，中国国际酒店集团（雅高集团、希尔顿集团、凯悦集团和洲际酒店集团）的领导就2023年以来酒店业和旅游业的最新发展和充满愿景的趋势交换了意见。
The opening ceremony was followed by the roundtable dialogue “Inspire the Next Chapter of Hospitality Growth in Greater China”, where leaders of the international hotel groups in China (Accor, Hilton, Hyatt and IHG) exchanged their insights on the recent development and promising trends of doing hospitality and tourism businesses from 2023 onwards.
To this note, Thailand stands ready to work together with all partners, including China, to promote mutually beneficial cooperation and chart a brighter sustainable future with joy and happiness for all.
