On 24 November 2021, Thai Consul-General Miss Lada Phumas together with officials of the Consulate-General paid a study visit to Zhangjiang Artificial Intelligence Island of the Zhangjiang Science City in the Pudong New Area of Shanghai, to explore Zhangjiang Science City’s potentials as China’s center for scientific and technological innovation, and to learn also about its best practices in supporting R&D, cutting-edge sectors and innovation ecosystem during the implementation of the 14^th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development of China.

         The visit is a follow-up of the Conference on High-level Reform and Opening-up of Pudong, and Building an Open World Economy, a parallel session of the Forth Hongqiao International Economic Forum, which was chaired by Li Qiang, Party Secretary of Shanghai on 6 November 2021, which emphasized the role of Zhangjiang Science Park as an integral mechanism of China’s dual circulation strategy.

         The Consul-General and her team was well received and taken care of by Ms. TangYing, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office, Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Government, and Mr. Li Ruifei, Deputy Director of Zhangjiang Group. Artificial Intelligence demonstration zone, including advanced technologies in smart healthcare and smart urban life, financial security, robotics, etc., is very much in the interest of the delegation.
