在苏州成功举办投资圆桌会议
On 19 November 2021, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai organized the Investment Roundtable Meeting at the Dusit Thani Wellness Resort in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, to promote cooperation between Thailand and the YRD region in trade, investment and tourism. The meeting, hosted by Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) Shanghai Office, was attended by executives and representatives from leading companies from various sectors in Suzhou and YRD.
In her Remarks, Thailand Consul-General Miss Lada Phumas informed that Thailand-China relations have moved forward rapidly and smoothly in all key areas, with shared objectives of improving the well-being of the two peoples, particularly during the challenging time of the global pandemic. The relations between Thailand and China are solid, and deeply rooted in historical and cultural ties.
The Consul-General reaffirmed that the Conference bears testament to the strong economic cooperation relations between the two countries and the Thai government is committed to further promoting constructive cooperation with China, particularly in the BCG Economy Model, Thailand’s post-pandemic recovery strategy. In this regard, she invited Chinese investors to seize the business opportunities presented by Thailand’s 4.0 Vision, the BCG Economy Model, and the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Masterplan. She went further to highlight Thailand’s policies on “Smart Control and Living with Covid-19” and Reopening, a step-by-step approach to gradually reopen the country, and the successful launching of a new online “Thailand Pass” system, ensuring seamless transition of Thailand tourism industry during the post-pandemic era.
Ms. Donlaporn Ajavavarakula, Director of Thailand BOI Shanghai Office, shared information on BOI’s new investment policies, offering more opportunities to invest in Thailand, especially incentives on R&D, new talents, equipment transformed & upgraded and energy conservation. Mr. Tamrongsak Lompongpipat, Deputy Director of the TAT Shanghai Office, elaborated on Thailand’s latest tourism scheme on “Test & Go” or “Exempted Quarantine Scheme”, “Phuket Sandbox” and “Samui Plus”, which attract much interest from the Chinese participation.
