On 12 January 2022, Ms. Lada Phumas, Consul-General of Thailand in Shanghai, received a group of executives of renowned Chinese companies investing in Thailand who called on the Consul-General on the occasions of the international New Year and the forthcoming Chinese New Year.
During the discussion, there was an exchange on how Thailand and the Chinese enterprises can work together to further promote economic and investment cooperation in Thailand, especially in the fields of aviation, tourism, rubber and latex products, electronic appliances and construction.总领事强调了在新冠疫情期间保持和加强泰中之间多维度联系的重要性，同时强调了泰国的主要经济政策，如 “泰国4.0战略”、泰国东部经济走廊的发展和“生物-循环-绿色经济模式”是泰国后疫情时代的经济复苏战略。在目标行业和高科技行业的新投资，特别是以可持续发展为重点的投资，能够享受到泰国提供的更大的经济和投资利益。
While emphasizing the importance of maintaining and enhancing the multi-dimensional linkages between Thailand and China during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Consul-General highlighted Thailand’s major economic policies such as Thailand 4.0, the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and the Bio-Circular-Green Economy Model as Thailand’s post-pandemic economic recovery strategy. New investments in targeted and high-tech industries and particularly with the focus on achieving sustainability can be able to enjoy greater economic and investment benefits offered by Thailand.
The Consul-General appreciated the Chinese investors in contributing to the advancement of the Thai economy and the overall Thai-Chinese bilateral ties. The Consul-General also expressed the readiness of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai to support and further facilitate Chinese investment in Thailand.
