Consul-General Promoted RCEP Cooperation with Yiwu, Zhejiang
泰国驻沪总领事推动RCEP框架下与浙江义乌合作
2022年11月25日，泰国驻上海总领事乐达·普玛女士受浙江义乌市人民政府外事办公室和商务局邀请，参加了通过线上形式举行的RCEP经贸合作促进对话会。
On 25 November 2022, Ms. Lada Phumas, Consul-General of Thailand in Shanghai, was invited by the Foreign Affairs Office and Commerce Bureau of Yiwu, Zhejiang to the Dialogue on Promotion of RCEP Economic and Trade Cooperation held via video conference.
该对话会由义乌市副市长王玮先生主持，义乌市相关部门代表、印度尼西亚、柬埔寨和越南总领事以及义乌和浙江省主要企业代表参加。
The Dialogue was hosted by Mr. Wang Wei, Vice Mayor of Yiwu, and attended by representatives from relevant offices of Yiwu, Consuls-General of Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam as well as representatives from leading enterprises of Yiwu and Zhejiang.
乐达总领事在视频致辞中认可了义乌在小商品贸易、电子商务和物流方面的实力。她为加强RCEP框架下的合作提出了一些切实可行的建议，其中包括利用义乌的自由贸易区和知名批发市场推广和分销RCEP国家的商品，以及加强跨境电子商务合作，包括与泰国的线上数字贸易平台，如“Thaitrade.com”和“天猫泰国食品国家旗舰店”。会议还强调了物流合作的新机遇，包括跨境铁路，以及通过泰国生态-循环-绿色经济模式（BCG）实现可持续发展等。
In her recorded video message, Consul-General Lada recognized Yiwu’s strength in small commodities trade, e-commerce and logistics. She proposed a number of practical suggestions to intensify cooperation under the RCEP, which include using Yiwu’s free trade zone and well-known wholesale markets to promote and distribute goods from RCEP countries as well as enhancing cross-border e-commerce cooperation, including with Thailand’s online digital trade platforms such as “Thaitrade.com” and “Thailand Food Country Tmall Official Store”. New opportunities for cooperation in logistics, including cross-border railways, and sustainable development through Thailand’s Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model were also highlighted.

Yiwu is reputable for small commodities commerce. It has a market business area of over 6.4 million square meters, with over 75,000 booths and shops, selling over 2.1 million types of goods. Yiwu International Trade Mart has been recognized as the world’s largest small commodities wholesale market. Its e-commerce has also been booming. Yiwu has the highest density of e-commerce accounts for domestic trade and second highest density of e-commerce accounts for international trade in China.
2021，泰国与义乌贸易额为206,722万美元，同比增长107.35%，义乌成为泰国第三大贸易伙伴，仅次于美国和印度。去年，泰国也是义乌最大的进口来源国，进口额为7.3491亿美元，较上年相比增长337%。
In 2021, Thailand - Yiwu trade amounted to 2,067.22 million US dollars, 107.35% increase from the year before, making Thailand Yiwu’s third largest trading partner after the US and India. Last year, Thailand was also the largest source of imports for Yiwu, with the imports valued at 734.91 million US dollars, 337% increase from the previous year.
