On 14 October 2022, Ms. Lada Phumas, Consul-General of Thailand in Shanghai, welcomed Mr. Michael Ross, Senior Vice Chairman of Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group, and Mr. Charoenlarp Thammanichanond, Chief Executive Officer of Bangkok Bank (China) Co., Ltd., together with their executive teams at the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai with the attendance of officials of the Consulate-General.
Consul-General Lada reiterated the importance of the continued engagement between the Consulate-General and leading Thai businesses in China and the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) in order to foster closer and more concrete cooperation to advance Thailand’s interest. The executives of both companies expressed their readiness to continue supporting the mission of the Consulate-General in promoting Thailand’s partnership with China and the YRD. Insightful exchange also touched upon various topics of interest such as business revitalization in light of COVID-19 pandemic, consumer market and trends in the food industry, opportunities for Thai businesses, economic and financial situations in China including the trajectory of yuan currency, the prevention and control efforts of COVID-19 as well as Bangkok Bank’s support to the Consulate-General in the installation of a QR Code payment system to facilitate individuals receiving legalization and consular services. 晚餐期间,大家的讨论在友好且温馨的氛围中进行,一些泰国美食和甜品以创新的形式向大家呈现,如:酸辣虾汤肉冻、肉桂水果冰糕等。此外,正大集团还带来了一些与榴莲相关的产品,如:冷冻榴莲肉、榴莲雪糕、榴莲千层蛋糕、芝士烤榴莲等,这些产品近期已经正式在中国市场上线。
The discussion was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere over dinner where some Thai savoury and sweet dishes were served in an innovative form such as jelly prawn tomyum soup and bael fruit sorbet with cinnamon. CP also brought for sampling their new durian-related products such as frozen durian, durian ice cream, durian cake and baked durian cheese, which have recently been introduced to the China market.
