On 15 February 2023, Ms. Lada Phumas, Consul-General of Thailand in Shanghai, welcomed Mr. Xue Feng, President of Shanghai Foreign Investment Development Board (Invest Shanghai), to the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Shanghai. Ms. Donlaporn Ajavavarakula, Invest Consul, and other executives of Invest Shanghai were also in attendance.
Both sides reaffirmed their determination to promote closer economic and investment cooperation between Thailand and Shanghai after the relaxation of COVID-19 measures in China in 2023. Exchange of visits of high-level official and business delegations, strengthening networking between Thai and Chinese enterprises, making greater use of the RCEP and updating one another on the latest economic policies and investment incentives were also raised.
Both sides also agreed to continue their cooperation on co-organizing a number of economic and investment promotion seminars and activities this year, especially the Bangkok - Shanghai Economic Conference (BSEC) to foster Thailand - Yangtze River Delta (YRD) economic partnership including on green industries and green financing.
Mr. Xue Feng took thisopportunity to present the letter of appreciation to Consul-General Lada for her support to Invest Shanghai as well as her efforts to promote economic and trade cooperation between Thailand and Shanghai over the past two years.
Following the discussions, Consul-General Lada hosted a Thai luncheon with Thai hospitality for Mr. Xue Feng and Invest Shanghai delegation at her residence in a warm and amiable atmosphere.
