On 18 March 2023, Ms. Lada Phumas, Consul-General of Thailand in Shanghai, was invited by the Council for Promoting South-South Cooperation (CPSSC) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China to address the “Conference of Economy, S&T and Culture Cooperation among Shanghai and One Belt One Road Countries” at ZhongGeng Global Creative Center in Shanghai.

This event was attended by Consuls-General in Shanghai and executives of Chinese and foreign enterprises and other members of the CPSSC.中国外交部南南合作促进会副会长王宪民大使和外交部南南合作促进会上海办事处洪涌清主任洪永清先生分别致欢迎词和开幕词。Ambassador Wang Xianmin, Vice Chairman of the CPSSC, and Mr. Hong Yongqing, Director of Shanghai Office of the CPSSC, gave welcoming and opening remarks, respectively.
In her speech, Consul-General Lada underlined the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in fostering win-win international cooperation as well as the role of Shanghai and Yangtze River Delta (YRD) in contributing to that end. She also suggested for increased BRI cooperation in pursuing greater economic liberalization, enhancing connectivity in various dimensions, promoting green partnership and sustainability including through Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economy Model, and strengthening multi-stakeholder partnership across sectors and countries.
Consuls-General of Indonesia and Cuba, Deputy Consul-General of Argentina, Honorary Consul of Seychelles, and representatives of leading enterprises were also invited to speak. Since 2014, the CPSSC has served as a platform in connecting Chinese and foreign officials, private sectors, business communities and professional associations together in order to promote constructive exchanges, mutual understanding and mutually beneficial cooperation.
